Validation of dynamically calculated data
Jasica Nagpal — Feb 26, 2018 11:01AM UTC
How do we validate calculated fields,eg, sum of elements based on input provided.
How to validate if sum is correct, can we compare from external source or put logic to validate?

Thanks for reaching out.
Sounds like what you’re looking for in this case is functional testing, you can do that with Selenium by comparing the expected data to the result.
With Applitools you can perform visual testing to verify that each element in the UI is in the right position, shape, color, and size and that it does not overlap with other elements.
You can easily perform visual testing across different environments (different browsers and OS) and by different match levels (see this article about match level).
Let me know if you have any more questions.

I wanted to follow up to see if you need any additional info.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Were you able to get the desired results from the test?
Let me know if you have any questions about visual testing using Applitools.
